Manufactured from thermoplastic polyurethane, this bumper provides protection for the Kuka SmartPad 2 if accidentally dropped.
Safepend® bumper is immune to water, most water-based cleaning agents as well as many industrial coolants and cutting fluids. Provides durable protection against drops and bumps. Raised edges protect SmartPad 2 and touch screen.
The bumper is custom-molded to the SmartPad’s exterior shape and features a “stretch-to-fit” installation (akin to a cell phone sleeve). Protective ridges are molded around rotary switches and e-stop buttons but do not interfere with their operation. 6-axis mouse function is preserved. Access to deadman switches on the back of the SmartPad is unencumbered. Access to the USB port on the back of the smartPAD 2 is also preserved.
The bumper is aggressively textured to maintain positive grip/feel in wet conditions or in the presence of lubricants/coolants. The energy-absorbing frame is slotted throughout for weight-savings, and to reduce the surface tension and accumulation of fluids.
